H/R initiatives often require a solid business case and financial justification to gain the required approvals. They then usually require new processes, I/T support and change management skills to succeed. Gary’s unique combination of experiences and skills cover all these bases.
Gary has over 25 years as a senior finance and information technology executive. He is a versatile operating executive, with broad experience as the senior management team member leading finance, information technology, planning, human resources, administration and operations. He has served in these roles at industry-leading Fortune 500, public and private equity/venture capital-backed companies. He has led in a variety of business settings, including corporate office, operating units, start-ups, shutdowns, acquisitions, divestitures, turnarounds, reorganizations and office relocations.
He has a unique blend of experience as both a CFO and CIO, and has led numerous ERP, BI, H/R and financial systems implementations. In his most recent executive role he led the implementation of Netsuite’s cloud-based SaaS ERP system to make revolutionary changes in his company’s systems and business. This included the implementation of the H/R, time reporting and payroll systems, as well as the transition to a PEO to provide high quality H/R management solutions on a small, startup company budget.
Gary earned his M.B.A. in Marketing and Finance from the University of Chicago (Booth School). He earned a B.S. in Accountancy from the University of Illinois, Champaign, Illinois, where he also passed the CPA exam and went on to gain experience in Big 8 public accounting.
He is also trained in facilitating teams in brainstorming, strategic planning and decision analysis/support, and is a valuable resource in assuring the success of any project, from the presentation to the corporate office to the execution of the tactical plan in systems and operations.
